FIRS 1323 (NT) - Firefighter Certification VSemester Credit Hour(s): 3 Lecture Hour(s) Each Week: 2 Lab Hour(s) Each Week: 3 The study of ropes and knots, rescue procedures and techniques, and hazardous materials. Preparation for certification as a basic firefighter. The student will describe and demonstrate proper rescue techniques to include search, removal, and packing of victims; describe and demonstrate life safety, harnesses, repelling, and vehicle extrication; describe and demonstrate various parts of the rope, various knots, and their uses; and identify definitions of hazardous materials and describe incident management of hazardous materials.
