RNSG 1301 (NT) - Pharmacology

Introduction to the science of pharmacology with emphasis on the actions, interactions, adverse effects, and nursing implications of drug classifications. Content includes the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in safe administration of medications within a legal/ethical framework. Identify the roles and responsibilities of the professional nurse in administering pharmacological agents; and explain the safe utilization of medications.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, BIOL 2420, RNSG 1119, RNSG 1125, RNSG 1128, and acceptance into the nursing program. The student must successfully complete all Level I courses in order to progress to Level II; and Transition students have BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, BIOL 2420, PSYC 2314 and acceptance into the transition program. The transition student must

pass all first semester transition courses in order to be able to progress to Level III nursing courses.
