Principles of environmental systems and ecology, including biogeochemical cycles, energy transformations, abiotic interactions, symbiotic relationships, natural resources and their management, lifestyle analysis, evolutionary trends, hazards and risks, and approaches to ecological research. Human interaction with and effect upon plant and animal communities. Conservation, pollution, energy, and other contemporary ecological problems.
Prerequisite(s): TSI complete in READ and WRIT and eligible to enroll in MATH 0307. Recommended: MATH 1314 - Successful completion of College Algebra or concurrent enrollment in higher-level mathematics is recommended
