This program is designed to provide advanced professional training opportunities in Computed Tomography for imaging technologists who hold current certification in radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Computed Tomography is a highly technical x-ray imaging modality that uses special x-ray equipment combined with skilled technologists to obtain image data by moving the x-ray source and the sensor/detectors around the patient. Computer synthesized data is acquired from multiple angles and processed to show detailed cross-sections of body tissues and organs in various planes.
